Both Deceased Students Identified in the Providence Campus Incident as Police Persist in Search for Gunman.
The pair of scholars who died in the weekend's violent attack on the university campus were being remembered Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their assailant continued following the discharge by local law enforcement of the single suspect questioned in the case.
Remembering Ella Cook
The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was described as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, according to the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which paid tribute to her at a gathering on Sunday.
Cook was the vice-presidency of Brown’s chapter of the College Republicans organization, the group said. Karoline Leavitt also posted sympathies publicly, saying in part: “It's indescribable. Remembering her kin and peers, above all her mom and dad.”
MukhammadAziz Umurzokov
The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, an Uzbek national in his freshman year at the renowned school, family members said.
Umurzokov’s identity was confirmed by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.
“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He had big dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a online post.
The Shooting Incident
An additional nine individuals were injured in Saturday’s attack in the school of engineering of Brown’s campus in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.
Authorities said on Sunday evening that a man aged 24 taken into custody in a raid at a lodging about around 27 kilometers from the scene earlier in the day was released from custody.
“We have a murderer out there,” stated Rhode Island’s attorney general, Peter Neronha.
Neronha explained, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last approximately one day.”

Condition of the Injured
Of the nine hurt, one pupil was allowed to go home, mentioned Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, authorities stated on Sunday.
