The defender's recovery is progressing smoothly, giving a chance that the Real Madrid right-back might be fit soon enough to face his former club Liverpool in the upcoming Champions League tie.

The 27-year-old player sustained a muscle problem during a match against French club Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the field in the early stages, with initial reports indicating a possible layoff of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid will travel to face Liverpool on 4 November for the European match—exactly over a month after the incident occurred.

Sources familiar with the player's condition indicate that the player's healing process is advancing well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold may achieve his first return to Anfield since joining Los Blancos in June.

A lifelong Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold previously stated that leaving the club he entered as a six-year-old academy talent was the "toughest choice he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold made 354 appearances, helping secure two English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

After his transfer to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions in various tournaments, logging over two and a half hours of playing time.
