A man from Australia who vaulted across a fence and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The man, twenty-six, was given a sentence to nine days in jail for disrupting public order and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," Singaporean immigration authorities informed Singaporean press.

He forced his way beyond security and rushed toward the performer and artist, who was attending the Asian debut for the musical adaptation on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

Wen has a history of causing disturbances at events and star-studded occasions, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in the past June.

The event provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many claiming he of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The celebrity has mentioned experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her show in the UK city in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals and injured hundreds.

During Wen's trial, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the movie's debut twice, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a follow-up try to jump the barricades. Protection personnel stopped him and held him in place.

He then uploaded recordings thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Police detained him the next day and accused him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge Christopher Goh was cited by Channel News Asia as saying that he was looking for publicity, commenting that he was mistaken to assume he would not face any penalties.

The actress has not addressed the incident.

The co-star spoke about the incident to the press, saying that she "only aimed to ensure my friend was safe."

"I'm sure he didn't mean us harm, but you can't predict with such situations, and I aimed to make sure that she was OK. That was my initial reaction," she said.
